There's a little girl who was born with a rare genetic disorder by which she is unable to feel pain. This is a problem because pain is the body telling us something is wrong and it needs to be corrected. Without it, she can injure herself and never realize it is happening. She has been known to chew her own tongue while eating and not notice. One time she even stuck a finger in her mouth and stripped the flesh from it. The thing is that she's just a little girl and this is the only way she understands the world. Her mother, on the other hand, would give anything for her daughter to feel pain.
There's a man in Arizona who has decided to eat his own body weight in turkey. A sculptor by trade, he began applying his art during large Thanksgiving gatherings. He would take the meat from the turkey and reshape it into different forms in order to provide alternative representations for his guests. This year he has ordered 25 turkeys, which he figures will weight close to 160 lbs without the bones. He will create an exact replica of himself, in turkey, and serve it for dinner. Given the personal nature of the sculpture, he has decided to not invite anyone for the traditional feast and eat himself all by himself.
There's a man who lives in Cyprus who has taken it upon himself to write love notes on every bridge and overpass on the island. He continues to spray paint the graffiti messages to his mysterious love, even after it has been a year since she left him. Nobody knows the reason for her leaving, but it seems he is so heartbroken that he will do anything to get her back. The messages keep appearing and it doesn't seem they will stop until she takes him back. It has become quite a phenomenon in the country. And even though nobody knows who he really is, he has become a national hero of sorts. Everyone in the country is rooting for him. Well, everyone except for one.
There's a man who suffers from a disease called autophobia. This disease is characterized by a fear of one's self. In other words, he's afraid of himself. There's also a woman who is allergic to her own skin. The thing is that, believe it or not, all of these stories are true. I didn't make any of them up. And as unbelievable as they may seem, this is real life.
